The most amazing thing about this adventure is that it has shown me much about compassion and friendship. It would be impossible to recount all the incredible people I have met in the last 32 years (yah, thanks for making me another year older August), but this blog has brought so many of those people back into my life and I think that might be one of the biggest blessings of all! I sincerely hope we continue to stay in touch and that you do plan a visit when we finally own a home-- thanks to you!

On day 10 of the final countdown our donations went up to $3,719! This is all thanks to one of those incredible people whom I met years ago in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is an incredible mom with two of the cutest little boys in the world, and someone I wouldn't have met if I hadn't taken a risk at flying solo to visit a best friend during college. It was totally worth the shin splints I got running through that Willy-Wonkaesque tunnel in Detroit's airport. Word to the wise- don't take 3 connecting flights your first time flying solo unless you have also packed a few flight flasks to reduce anxiety.

I just sent off letter #975,349 or so to Ellen, and we are again asking if you could please share with your friends, family, or whoever you think might have a dollar to spare, to help us make our dreams come true. Make sure you visit our YOUCARING page if you would like to make a donation! Well, the house part... world peace might take a bit longer.

As promised, here's an entertaining video of Emmi reading about kittens. Don't mind the ridiculous amounts of drool- she's getting about 50 teeth at once it seems. I think she cusses more than a sailor... we'll find out when this babbling becomes more recognizable ;) But according to Lili, she says "Dammit" all the time.

And who doesn't love a video of a baby laughing? So, here, you can have that, too!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's countdown post- there's no telling what Katherine will do ;)
