Dear Ellen,

I'm not giving up! I am going to keep the faith that we can reach our goal because why the hell not? If you feel like giving up a dollar today- don't forget to go HERE!

I might have just sent my 8,395th letter to Ellen today. I realized after hitting "submit", that all along I should have been putting copies of them here! So, I'm sorry for my complete slip on that one. I wonder who reads Ellen's letters? I see that job going two ways:

1- It would be awesome!!!! I bet people are typically pretty funny and nice in what they send in. And for the jerk wads who just sent jerk-waddy stuff, I'd definitely send things like glitter bombs in return. Hate life? Here you go... a free unicorn poop lip balm.

2- It would be tragic. I already want to help everyone I can, and I am sure there are just gagillions of deserving people out there who I wouldn't be able to say no to. How do they decide who gets help and who doesn't? For Valentine's day one year, I sponsored a child through World Vision as a gift to my classes. It was kind of awful having to choose someone- as you just flip through pictures and stories of kids around the world who need help. We had a good year sending letters to Amadu and hearing his stories about life and family and mango trees :) So... I guess I'm back to where I started that this job would be awesome! Where do I sign up?

I admit, I'm posting this with the 10 minutes of planning time I get at school because I already planned Monday's lesson yesterday (a serious talk about politics, gun violence, being a young black man in Milwaukee, and how we can all make changes) and I needed to do something to keep my brain from melting in this 110 degree classroom.

Until next time...

Nanny-No

Hola Amigos!

Lili and I are here (she titled this post- I have no idea what it means but apparently repeating it 1,964 is very fun for her) to give a quick update. We are in the final stretch with a little over a month to go. She and I were running around in the rain this morning when she pointed at a house across the street and said, "Maybe we could live there?" She's so excited about the idea of owning our own house one day, and I can't wait for her to have a home!

We haven't given up, and I've been busting my butt between summer school and bartending and picking up extra shifts trying to save a little towards a house. We like to dream about where we will move and how many people we are going to invite over for an epic housewarming party ;) The REALLY big dream is to find a place we can have a brewery-hobby farm-b&b-dream getaway business- and of course, you're all invited. Here's hoping we won't be 80 by then.

I apologize for the very short update, but I wanted to get something out there because once again time has passed way too quickly and I haven't had a single moment to post. I've got a screaming 3 year old begging to play; I guess next time I'll post after bar close when the house is asleep.

Until then... thanks for sharing!!! Especially you, Ellen ;)
